At this time the rules changed from SMAE to FAI this made the models bigger and a smaller fuel load so we didn't know what to expect. I built two models for the 1959 season a bit of a stab in the dark they would be over engineered because a lot of racing was still raced in parks and cartwheeling was always a problem on grass. I found a wide section tyre prevented turning over on take off and landings as at this time all testing was flown over grass at the local park.
