River Tavy Leat Source

This is how they make sure only the right amount of water goes down the leat.
From here you can walk on further up the valley into Tavy Cleave proper.
There isn't a path as such so it's really only suitable for dedicated moorwalkers who don't mind navigating over and around boulders,
but after about 1/2 mile the valley closes in and then opens up again where another
valley joins. I recall being there on a hot summer afternoon many years ago when
a little hot weather whirlwind blew into that sheltered spot and
fizzed across the surface of the stream.
