Fossil Bearing Cliffs at Lyme Regis

These rapidly eroding cliffs at Lyme Regis on the 'Jurassic Coast' just outside the East Devon county border are renowned for their fossil content. The sedimentary layers between the harder rock bands are quite soft and fragile.
