This picture of a gull flying over a stormy seascape at Hartland Quay in North Devon (UK) is actually a combination shot. Mask feathering and motion-blur lends greater authenticity to the shot.

Thank you, Sheila, for your comments on this seascape, the cat and the crocus. They were all shots that needed a little bit of application to get the right. The seagull was actually grabbed with digital zoom on top of the normal 7x optical so it is surprising that it remains as sharp as it is. The crocuses had a black background inserted behind themwhich was then made pure via a mask in an image processing program. The cat just got angry with me and let me take the close up despite everything.
