The back of the car has a 3rd row of seats that slide back when put flat,
but not quite all the way leaving a 1" or so gap bridged by weak car liner stuff.
I have a large firm mat which I flap back over this to let her out of the car
bridging any gaps and so she doesn't slip on the rear fender. This time Peggy didn't wait
for the mat and her leg slipped into the narrow gap. Ouch!!
Now it's stuffed with a 'snake' draught excluder and she's being made to stay back
while the carpet is folded back out over the edge. Vet put her an antibiotics
for the open wound just to be on the safe side.
Update: It took until the first week of July for this to get better enough to go
without a sock. She licked at it a couple of times and almost got it infected again.
Vetzyme ointment appeared to do the trick. I'm still not letting her run
in long grass or heather.
