It'll ride in there until doomsday. You need a thumbnail to get it out again, but it's easy enough.

You could use a shorter piece, but this length gives a good grip on the lower part while you extract the cover from the top.

Of course it smells a wee bit of rubber, but who cares? It's hardly noticeable.
