My favourite fence

Intruder from 2nd Jan.

The EXIF date is wrong - it's a new camera, and I obviously missed setting the year. If anyone else managed to take a D300s shot last January, they should get in touch with the Defense Department (0-800-ARE-A51), or take 100mg of Valium and call their doctor in the morning.

Nikon D300S
1/8000s f/3.5 at 18.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Great perspective shot!

Very good shot John! I like the angle of the fence here as it makes my eyes draw to the horizon.

Excellent, and a miracle also, as you say. The very first shot ever with a D300s. LOL My earliest one is dated Dec. 2009

I'd have rushed back inside myself! Brrrrrriliant shot!

Nice shot. I agree with Ronald. If my eyes were focused on the distance, the close post would be out of focus anyway. Awfully long shadows for 10:38 in the morning on Jan 2, 2009 (according to the EXIF).

It's impressive.A bit more snow and you have the mood of the battle of the Bulge.

Looks a little nippy, so I can understand your not taking extra time to fiddle with settings. ;)

I agree with you, it's a nice fence. Like your low POV. F/16 would certainly have given a bigger range of focus but wouldn't make necessarily a better photo. I like the shallow DOF of f/3.5.
