We stayed three days in Lima before joining our tour group. We also spent a day there after we returned from the tour. This is a huge city, 8 million people. It is divided into 40 or so districts, some of which are pretty nice, like Miraflores where we stayed. We saw some very nice museums. The best was probably the Larco collection, a vast collection of indian artifacts that is a private collection. There is quite a bit to see. We didn't venture out to restaurants. Our style is to get some stuff from the grocery, a bottle of wine and hang out in the evening at the hotel room and relax. You don't want to be out alone at night.
