Toward the end of the day (hence low light and poor photos) we came across a Topi giving birth. It took about ten minutes and the little critter was on his feet and nursing fifteen minutes after birth. Our guides said that the timing was an adaptation over the years because mother and colt don't want to be immobile very long because of the predators.
