It was a relocation day with a stop at a cool site, Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument in Fritch, Texas. We had a two hour ranger guided tour around the site. This area was inhabited by the Antelope Creek people from 1200-1450 AD. There is evidence that various people going back to the Clovis people maybe 14,000 BC inhabited the site. There are a thousand or so pits where the flint was mined. These were all man sized and it is obvious from all the flakes that the flint was worked right out of the mine. It was then taken to camp where the nappers would fashion implements.
