This was one of those two days in one. We headed from American Samoa to Independent Samoa which included crossing the International Date Line (IDL). It is interesting that the IDL was changed not too long ago to put Samoa into the same day as New Zealand, a country they have close relations with. So we flew from Pago Pago to Apia on Upolu Island in Samoa. Our hotel is a first rate resort, Taumeasina Island Resort. It is a giant leap above the places we stayed in American Samoa.
So we got settled in and enjoyed the nice surroundings. On the schedule for this evening is a Fia Fia performance which is like a Hawaiian luau. You know, food, dancing, singing and all that stuff including a fire dance. It was enjoyable and the food (and beer and wine) was good. Taula is a Samoan beer which is a very good lager. A pitcher was just the right amount for the evening. It was a very enjoyable evening.
