This is our 2012 Honda Odyssey mini van. We like it a lot. It has 226,000 miles on it. It has been pretty reliable over the years. This year we had some unexpected maintenance opportunities, but we expect that because stuff just wears out. We put in an alternator to replace the one that was original equipment. Also some seals and an oil pressure sender. Yesterday I had it at the shop to replace the timing belt which is time limited. This is the second time we have done that. Well, new brake pads, turn the rotors, oil change, automatic transmission fluid change, engine coolant change, new water pump and a new front engine mount just about sums it up. So it is like a brand new car. Yeah there are things that will continue to wear out but we love having our van. We looked at the new ones just for grins. They are really expensive for starters. They have way too much automated "stuff." The biggest problem was that was no way to mount our iPad which is what we use for navigation. So I figure that we are good to go for quite a while. Some day the engine or transmission may crap out, but we do our best to stay ahead of the curve as far as routine maintenance goes.
