Today was spent with Richard, Christiane, Andrew and Austin. After breakfast the group headed out to Point Hueneme for a visit to the Seabee Museum. The name was adopted formally in 1942 for the Construction Battalions (CB). We spent about an hour there which was all the grandkids would tolerate. It is a place I would return to (it's free) to finish off looking.
For lunch we went to the Waypoint Café at Camarillo Airport. There was almost an hour wait to get seated, but the food was terrific. Next stop was a Filipino seafood market for a variety of things including a large redfish. We got some spicy garlic peanuts which are really good. Then to Richard's for dinner. We headed back to the hotel about 6:30 pm. I did the laundry. The excitement never ends on our road trips.
Today's photo is of the mascot of the Seabees. It is hard to see, but it is holding a Thompson submachine gun.
