A full day in Joshua Tree National Park. We took a number of hikes and completed a loop on the north end of the park. The largest concentration of Joshua Trees are to be found there. In the morning it was cool and windy, necessitating the use of a fleece while out and about. During the day it got quite warm, but the wind never abated. The scenery doesn't change very much except for the types of plants. We had an enjoyable adventure looking around and ended up the day back at the west gate for another photo of ourselves and the Joshua Tree National Park sign. This came out much better because the sign faced west and the sun was low enough to prevent shadows on our faces.
Today's picture is one of Ginny's. It is of Joshua Trees. I like the composition. Photographing plain old trees in isolation is very boring. The rocks in the background are granite. We were in an ancient volcanic caldera.
