During our trip to Egypt and Jordan I gained a deep appreciation for the camera in my iPhone 12 Pro Max. It produces excellent images in all sorts of lighting conditions. You gotta know what you are doing in some cases, especially in low light. If you remember the old days with an iPhone, pictures in low light were very grainy and red. For some reason back in those days people posted lots of crappy selfies. One other advantage of the iPhone is that everybody is capable of taking pictures with it, unlike our regular cameras. Everybody has an iPhone or Samsung phone and they take a lot of pictures so they are in the ballpark when asked to take a photo. That means we can ask someone to take a photo of us and get a real good image. The sensor is 12 megapixels which is adequate for most of the photos we want. The lenses (3 of them) are very sharp. All in all, a photographic tool which I am now happy to use. BTW, the iPhone 13 seems to be about the same except for a 3.0X rather than a 2.5X telephoto. Not worth $1,000 to upgrade.
