I got my new iPad today. It is a 9th generation. My old one is a 4th generation which I have had for nine years or so. It was getting flaky and it wouldn't update operating systems which means that some of the software I want to use won't run. We mainly use it for navigating on our road trips.

Anyway, I was anticipating an all day session of downloading apps and setting the thing up. To my great surprise when I turned it on it said you can do the setup manually or through you iPhone. I chose the latter and moved the iPhone closer. Sure enough, it started doing stuff and asked a few questions. In a very short period of time the thing was set up and busy downloading apps. I was amazed. When all that was over the only thing I really had to do was change the name of the device because it had adopted my iPhone name. The best part? There are no DIP switches to mess with. If you know what a DIP switch is, you are definitely an OF like me.
