Our final full day in Charleston, SC, and we had a good time. The morning activity was a ferry trip out to Fort Sumter. There was lots of good information provided by the rangers. The weather was nice. The stay at the Fort is only an hour, but that is about all you need to see everything. The snack bar on the ferry was selling beer on the way back. Lucky me. BTW - we visited Fort Sumter in about 1978 when we lived in Spartanburg.

The afternoon was spent at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant. There is a nice manor house there, but it was built in the 1930's. Actually still occupied on the second floor, but not descendants of Boone. There were three previous manor houses. There were a couple talks which were pretty good. We also had a wagon ride around the place which highlighted the agriculture still going on there. We were apprehensive about the visit because of the high admission price but it turned out just fine.
