We had a great day. It started out with a three hour brunch with our friends Steve and Betty at their home on Isle of Palms. We met them on a three week river cruise in Europe about nine years ago. It was fun to catch up on things . At the end we took the obligatory group photo.

Then it was to Patriot's Point to visit the aircraft carrier Yorktown (CV-10) and the destroyer Laffey (DD-724). We spent quite a while walking around and climbing up and down numerous ladders. Having never been in the Navy, it is hard for me to imagine what it would have been like when the carrier was underway and conducting air operations.
