We made a run to HEB, my favorite grocery store. We just had a short list of things to get so it would be a quick stop. I always take a pass down the meat section. There on the end cap was a selection of stuff that is supposed to be a hamburger substitute. Sales of these ersatz meat products seem to be growing. You will notice that it is very expensive, about three times the price of good old 80/20 hamburger.

Burger King has been selling these Impossible Burgers for several years. We stopped at a Burger King on one of our road trips and I asked the teenager manning the cash register if they sell many of the Impossible Burgers. She said, "We sell a lot of them but they taste like sh*t." Interesting unsolicited comment from the staff.

Someday I will give it a try. Not today, however. I spent my money on some good old skirt steak for fajitas.
