Today was a first rate adventure. We went out snorkeling which is something we like to do. It started out as the usual look at the pretty fish. I had my trusty Canon D-30 underwater camera along, but it was hard to get a photo of the fish because I was bobbing in the water and the focus was very slow. The wet suits they provided added a lot of buoyancy which made getting under the surface very difficult.

After the tame dive in a lagoon we headed out for some more exciting things. Next stop was the "elevator" where the water level went up and down by a bout 10 feet because of the waves. You could float in it right next to the wall and really see how far you moved. The we headed south and found a place to watch turtles. Then it got really cool. A school of Spinner Dolphins showed up and swam around us. There were about two dozen of them. They mostly stayed below. Once back on the dive boat, the captain followed them (and they seemed to follow us as well). Finally they started doing their famous spinning moves. Here is what they do.

Then it got even better, a humpback whale and its calf were spotted and we were able to watch them for a while. Finally, mama sounded and we saw her fluke disappear below the surface. This was among the best snorkeling adventures ever. Ginny gave it a double thumbs up.

After lunch we visited a sugar museum. See the addendum for today.
