Every once in a while I sit down with Lightroom and "thumb through" our database of 212,000 photos. It is always a lot of fun because there are so many really good memories in there. Well, today I was looking back to 1973. Ginny and I were in the Chemistry doctoral program at MIT. We had been engaged for a month or two, but it was still just between us. So we had a brainstorm. We invited our parents out for Thanksgiving and figured to tell them "Hey, we're getting married!"
If you think about it that is certainly putting the parents in a possibly very uncomfortable position. What we learned that Thanksgiving was that we both had the very best parents in the world. We had a great Thanksgiving dinner and spent a bunch of time touring around Boston. A good time was had by all, and we were off and rolling. Life is good, it always has been.
Today's photo is of my parents (front) and Ginny's parents (rear) at the Massachusetts State House on the Boston Common.
