As I had reported previously, we got rid of the land line at our house. Now that we are back for a while after our travels, Ginny wants to ebay the collection of phones we had previously hooked up. There were quite a few of them. I was surprised. There were six handsets and a three extension wireless phone which included our message machine. As part of the conversion, we needed to let a lot of organizations know the home number is no longer in service. So far I have made the changes at two dozen places. More will surface I am sure, but the important ones are taken care of.
Adjusting to life without the land line has been no problem. I still hardly answer the phone when it rings. If the incoming call is found in my contacts list, I will answer. If not, I figure it is either a bogus caller or somebody that isn't in my contacts. In the latter case, that person will leave a message and I will call them back. That hasn't happened yet. The only messages I get are from some friendly organization telling me that the IRS has issued a warrant for my arrest. I am still waiting for the US Marshall to arrive at my door. I will invite him in for a cold beverage.
