The smoke was very thick in the area. In the morning there was quite a bit of ash on the car. We had seen an aerial photo of Mt. Shasta on TV last night which showed the mountain poking out of the smoke. Maybe we would get lucky since Lassen Volcanic National Park was mostly at high elevations. We drove into the park in the smoke and sure enough as we got higher on the road the smoke dissipated. We were rewarded with a nice view of the mountain. A little Lightroom haze filtering resulted in a nice photo as well.
We wandered around quite a bit and took a hike to King's Creek Falls. I will tell you that I like to hike, but I just don't like going up hill. There was a steep climb to get back to the starting point. It seems that whenever we take a hike you start out by going down hill then have to climb back up. So it goes. I need to practice not grumbling in these situations.
