Every once in a while I discover something that is interesting to me. Many of the discoveries are nothing new to a more experienced person, but they are new and interesting to me (easily amused, don't forget). I get a little excited about them.

My most recent one involved Lightroom. My photo database is pretty big, 201,457 images in probably 4500 folders. As mentioned before I got a new solid state drive and thought it would make things faster. It did to a certain extent. With the old spinning drive I could watch Lightroom load and it would take about eight minutes. With the SSD that was cut to three and a half minutes. Pretty good improvement. Then I discovered something really interesting. I started Lightroom and immediately minimized it. When I looked back it had already loaded everything in a short time. I started trying to figure out how fast it was loading and soon discovered that it was less than 20 seconds. WOW I guess when the program is minimized and not having to deal with the computer screen, things go faster. Pretty cool. Not earth shattering but still pretty cool.

That is interesting. I noticed the same improvement on
a news site that I read every morning. It's quick to load
when minimum size and then, I enlarge it.
