Project Day 100 - Exile Day 50 - Much progress today. The guys finished installing the carpet upstairs. It looks terrific. Ginny did a great job of selecting the carpet and pad. It feels very luxurios when you walk on it. Now that the carpet is finished we can start putting the furniture back where it belongs. That gives a feeling of real progress toward completion. Elsewhere they started sealing the floors but ended up with a very streaky application of the sealer. Ginny told them how to properly apply it, but they used a different method which did not work. That means rework and delays moving the refrigerator and washer and dryer where they belong. Tomorrow is going to be a big day because the city inspectors are coming for final inspections. Until we have that occupancy permit, we are stuck in the hotel. That doesn't mean we can't start putting the house back together. My optimistic hope was that we could move back this weekend, but that isn't going to happen.

Today's photo is of the carpet installers cutting carpet to be installed. Those carpet rolls are very heavy. I wasn't around when they moved them in so I didn't see how they managed it. I couldn't even budge one end of the roll. I would guess the roll was at least 600 pounds. Let the professionals do the work. That's why they get the big bucks.
