Project Day 56 - Exile Day 6 - I went over to have a look at the wires that had nails driven into them. Here is a photo of the one that finally heated up and arced out (the black one). I heard it pop. That was several years ago. This is scary. They have found four places in the wiring where that has happened. We are replacing a lot wiring which is a good thing. Our contractor puts protector plates on the studs in locations where utilities are routed. In yesterday's post you can see four of them protecting the PVC drain vent line.

In other news, the taxes are finished except for one K-1 from a master limited partnership. They say it will be mailed out next week. The Oregon taxes are finished as well. We are getting money back from the feds and we owe Oregon a little bit. Writing those quarterly estimated tax payment checks is tough. What do they do with all that money? I'll bet they give most of it away. Not to me, of course.

This kind of stuff scares the daylights out of me.
You're really lucky you caught that.
