Day 5 - Not much going on the remodeling project. Ginny is hard at work boxing up stuff in the kitchen. Today was also a football day. The Packers beat Dallas. I have been a life long Packers fan and I am always a fan of whoever is playing Dallas. You will remember many years ago when Dallas got dubbed "America's Team." The NFL made up the moniker as part of their promotional programs. They approached other teams before the Cowboys. Anyway, at the time the Oilers (before moving to Tennessee) were our team and as far as we were concerned, America's team. The NFL and the Cowboys made a lot of hay out of that promotion. So anyway, I was happy to see the Cowboys get beat.
One of my hobbies is collecting Boy Scout patches. I have been at it seriously for about 20 years. I would say that I have over 10,000 patches. Some have great value. Some do not. Every once in a while I put patches on ebay to sell. Ginny loves ebay. We are star-crunch if you are interested. I decided to have a go at selling a couple patches, the ones you see here. They are from the 1997 National Jamboree. K2BSA is the Boy Scout's amateur radio station and I was on the staff for that activity three times. In 1997 I asked permission to make a patch for the group and got a green light. It is patterned after the 1937 Jamboree patch. I made two versions, one being a limited staff version. I still have lots of them left. I put them up on ebay and was gratified to be able to sell them for $56.00. That is pretty good since they only cost me a couple bucks to make. So, next year I might try to sell another pair. Don't want to destroy the market by selling another pair right away.
