Yesterday was a relocation day. We had an eight hour drive from Jackson Hole, Wyoming to Green River, Utah. We don't have too many long days on our trips. Ginny is a very good planner.
We got up early this morning and headed out to Goblin Valley State Park. Although the weather looked pretty crummy, we always go rather than not go. Additionally, in this case, we might not be near here again and Goblin Valley is really off the beaten path. We got there at sunrise, but the clouds did us in. No sight of the sun. So we headed out and wandered around and took in the sights. The Goblins are kinda neat. We have seen similar things in numerous other places, but each place has its own style. These towers (or hoodoos or whatever) are not very large. We walked among them for a while. It looked to me that a future visit should be late afternoon to sunset based upon the orientation of the valley.
There was no point to hang around much longer, so we set up for the requisite John and Ginny shot then headed out to Cortez, Colorado where we would spend a couple days visiting Mesa Verde National Park.
