We did two more stops on the Bourbon Trail today, Maker's Mark and Four Roses. As always the tours were humorous and informative. But today we hit it lucky at Four Roses. Our tour got screwed up because they were trying to accommodate a large group. In the end the director of the single barrel program took Ginny and I out in her company car. We got a very close look at the filling and dumping facilities as well as the bottling line. Then she took us into the room where she conducts single barrel selections. There were five barrels there, each with a different recipe. We Selected one and she got the bourbon thief and drew our samples right from the barrel. How cool is that. It was totally unexpected and way beyond the scope of what we could ever hope for. Life is good. BTW - it was very nice!
