And so the great scanning project continues. At this point I have scanned 9829 images from our vast family collection. A couple days ago I got started looking at slides from 1973-1976. Ginny and I met in 1973, so these are particularly interesting to me. As it turns out, the slides were not really collected by date, so my technique of using development date as an approximation to the actualy dates won't work. The thing I have to do is go through them all individually and sort by subject and date. Some of the slides are Ginny's before she met me. Some of them are reprints which have faded very badly. Some of them are of things that neither of us recognize 40 years after the fact. I did find that a quick sort was useful to start bunching things in date/subject groups. So that is what I am going to do. This may take a while, but the reward is that every once in a while I run into one that is really good.
