Out at Bay Area Park again today. Weather was overcast but for a few moments the sun came out and illuminated this blackbird. As you probably realize, shooting pictures of black things often results in an image lacking in detail. With enough light from the right direction you can actually get some detail. Obviously shot with a long lens because of the DOF. I calculate the DOF as one inch. In this case the DOF is so narrow that it matters what part of the bird you focus on. I go for the eyes.
