We had a cool excursion today to Strasburg, PA. There is the Pnnsylvania Railroad Museum and the Strasburg Railway there. The museum is really nice. They have lots of trains of all sorts there. I found a museum volunteer that was very knowledgeable and spent about an hour just talking to him. To me, one of the best things of touring off season is that quite often you get the chance to talk a long time with someone who knows his stuff. At the Stratburg Railroad, we had a nice ride on a restored train which was pulled by this steam locomotive. It was coal fired, not an oil conversion. We sat in the First Class parlor and enjoyed some wine, beer, cheese and fruit as we traveled to Paradise and back. All in all a very cool day.
