I suppose you are wondering what a photo of a bird in flight has to do with our trip to Canada. Actually, not much except for the fact that I had a chance to try out my 5D Mk3 and 100-400 combination under good conditions. I have to say that it worked very well. From what I have read, the Mk3 comes with the best autofocus capability that Canon has ever built. I dialed in AI Servo and went to town. There are lots of quirks and nuances, but the sharpness of the images was really the best I have ever experienced.

As far as the trip is concerned, we returned by ferry to Newfoundland and proceeded to St. Anthony. We spent the afternoon at the Grenfell museum and home. I had never heard of this guy, but he was clearly a major positive influence on the well being of Newfoundland and Labrador. It was a very interesting afternoon.
