We spent another full day in Juneau with our friends Leo and Llewellyn. There really are a lot of interesting things to do here. We took the tram up to the top of Mt. Roberts, 1800 feet. You get a pretty good view of the towm from up there. There is also a nice restaurant where we had lunch. During the rest of the day we went to Glacier Gardens, Last Chance Mining Museum and across the channel to Douglas Island where we walked through the location of the Treadwell Mine which closed in 1917 after a catastrophic flooding event. Thus ended our three days in Juneau. We had a great time, largely thanks to our friends Leo and Llewellyn. Tomorrow we have a very early departure for Sitka. And the adventure continues. |
