Today we arrived in Ketchikan early in the morning and had to change to another vessel. Once aboard the MV Malaspina, we headed into town with some Aussie friends we met looking for the Catholic Church, seeing as how it was Sunday. We found one and arrived just as mass was starting. To our delight and surprise, it was a latin mass. This is somethng that you do not find too often these days. I thought it was quite a treat for us and enjoyed it thoroughly. We walked around a little more, had some coffee at McDonalds then headed back to the boat. Seeing as how it was Mother's Day and we were in reach of a cell phone signal, Ginny was able to get greetings from Richard and Robert, which really made her day. As long as she was at it, she decided to use the time to call her goofy girl friends and catch up with the rest of the world. I chose not to even turn my cell phone on. The only person who ever calls me is Ginny. We set off on the last leg to Juneau about 11:30 am. I could sail on the Alaska Marine Highway any time.
