We had a very interesting day. While we were volunteering at Fort Clatsop this summer we met a family from the Netherlands (the Klijnstra family) and Ginny got to talking to them. Ginny likes to talk. During the discussion she mentioned that we were traveling to the Netherlands this fall. They asked where we were going and she told them Rhoden. Well, these folks were from Norg, just 5 miles away. They got in contact with our friends Pieter and Rix and invited us for a visit while we were there. So today we hopped on bicycles and rode to Norg to meet them. It turned out to be a very interesting afternoon.When I walked in the door, I noticed that Ilse was wearing a sailplane necklace. There were pictures of sailplanes on the wall including a Libelle, which is the type of glider we owned at one time. All three of them were glider pilots. What a coincidence! So, we had a nice bicycle ride and a great time with our new friends in Norg. Life is good.
