We decided to drive down to Jewell Oregon today to have a look at an elk refuge. Our friends told us that we wouldn't see any elk, and they were right. Wrong time of year. We did have an interesting talk with a guy who was doing maintenance there and knew all about the elk. On the way back we had a stop for a lunch break at Fishhawk Falls County Park. It was a nice place. A short walk through the woods (sampling yummy thimbleberries all along the way) took us the falls. In this picture, they are over my right shoulder back in the woods. No real good spots for a photo, so this had to do. It was fun.
