We flew to Cusco this morning and headed out into the Sacred Valley. One of the stops we made was at the temple of Saqsaywaman. This was the first time I got a chance to look up close at Incan buildings. I was amazed at the way the stones were cut and fitted together. You couldn't slip a piece of paper into the joints. They also designed the walls with notches which prevented lateral shifting of the stones. And remember, these guys didn't have metal tools. Amazing!
The Incas had three laws: Don't steal, Don't lie and Don't be lazy. I think the last one shows through in their structures. It is a lot of work doing this without modern tools, but that's all they had to do. Every single (unrestored) Inca structure was like this. Some had a smoother finish, depending on where in the structure they were located. Aliens would have not had the artistic touch.

John, did you know that these exact stones have been quoted by Ufologists as proof of Alien life visiting Earth.
Their argument is the people of that time could not possibly have done work like that.
Some years ago I worked with a man who was a fully qualified stone mason.
I asked him if he could do work like these stones totally by hand without machinery of any kind.
He said , of course I can it is quite easy, and he drew me some simple diagrams showing how he would do it.
