We traveled east of Adelaide today into the wine country. We spent some time in the Barossa Valley where there seemed to be limitless acres of grapes. I was told that some of the grape vines here, of the Shiraz variety, were a hundred years old. It was a fine day and the scenery was nice. We had a wine tasting and lunch at the Saltram winery. This was very good. They put on a first class meal and the wines we sampled were quite good. You gotta remember that I am not a wine snob. If it tastes good I like it; if it tastes bad I don't like it. That is about all I know about wine. Anyway they all tasted good. Some of the members of our tour group really did know a lot about wine. They were from the Sacramento area and she works weekends at a local winery. These guys said the wines were good. I am glad they got it right.
