We went to an outback barbecue in Alice Springs and had a great time. They demonstrated boomerangs (which don't actually come back to the thrower), made bread, sang songs, told stories and served a first rate rib eye steak. It was a lot of fun. This is a shot of the moon at sunset. I thought it was cool.

I think the boomerang's design determines if it comes back or not. I have thrown a few Wham-O boomerangs that did indeed come back---sometimes to the exact spot I threw them from (I had to duck or run away).

I am not sure about that, John. Didn't think to try the experiment.

All those red rocks, I expect Dave Beedon is about there somewhere.
Is it true the water goes down the plughole anti clockwise down there ?.
