Today is primary election day here in Texas. Ginny and I always vote. Here Ginny is leaving the polling place at Armand Bayou Elementary School. She is standing next to a sign that really pisses me off. English is the national language of the United States. If you can't read English, go back to where you came from!

The language thing irks me too. The privilege of voting should be based on citizenship, which is based on written and spoken knowledge of the nation's traditional or main language. Although the USA has no official language, English has been the traditional one. I guess Spanish would be a close second, especially in the states near Mexico.
