Here's something interesting for all you photo buffs out there. I was messing around with the G11 today. I wanted to see if I could get a very high contrast picture of the side of our house in the bright sunshine. Interestingly, the G11 said it couldn't focus. I tried it on the siding in the shade and got the same response. I moved to within a foot of the shaded siding, and the G11 could get a focus there. I would have thought that a real high contrast scene like the siding in the sunlight would have not been a problem with focus. The only thing I got to thinking was that there was nothing in the vertical for it to work with. So I went back outside and tried again. Sure enough, with the camera tilted a bit, focus worked fine. With the camera rotated 90 degrees, it worked fine as well. Interesting!

A quick test, I pointed my G6 at this picture a few times and distances, all horizontal, all focussed.
I will check further outside, when it gets light.
