Here is the ignition culprit. A burned distributor rotor. I pulled the magneto and opened it up to find this. Now, I will have to say that Bloke asked, when I had the magneto off the first time, whether I wanted to open up the distributor and have a look. I replied that I doubt there is anything to see because it was running just fine, which it was. Well, opening that up is a matter of removing one snap ring, no problem at all. I should have done it, but I didn't. So I learned my lesson. Whenever you get a piece of equipment off the engine, really have a look at everything.
One thing is for sure, I am good at pulling and stabbing magnetos now. Especially the right one because you have to take off the started as well.
I filed down the distributor and made it all nice again. The engine ran just fine.
