I was there on assignmnet from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Departament. My assignment: "Document the ship as best you can." They used the photos for a booklet, posters, and in their magizene. And the gallery joins the other 43 parks and historic sight I've shot for the Park Department over an eight year period.
I arrived mid-morning and spent the day climbing and crawling all over the ship, from top to bottom. It was terfic fun and an interesting challange with the close quarters and lighting. I didn't get off the ship until late afternoon, near sunset. Thus, no shots with better light.
I wish I could have stayed over and shot it in better light, like the very nice shot you got. But, I had another assignmnet sstarting the next morning in Galveston, so I had to skedattle.
