From an album of photographs taken on a tour of Europe in the 1890's
The Basilica Giulia (Basilica of Julia) was a public building that stood in the Roman Forum, built in 46 BCE, damaged by fire shortly after completion it was repaired in 12 CE and again in 283 CE.
It was partially destroyed by the Visigoths in 410 CE when they sacked Rome and continued to decay over the years..
