An interesting experience at the arboretum on Monday
While walking along a narrow path with tall grass on both sides a Weasel carrying something in it's mouth crossed the path a couple of feet in front of me, I must have startled it as it dropped what it was carrying and carried on into the grass.
My first impression was that it had dropped it's lunch, however when I got closer I realized that it was a weasel kit, at that point I took a quick shot and backed off.
As soon as I backed off mum came out of the grass and retrieved the kit, she was way too fast to take a picture
