The Convair XB-36 which first flew in 1946 was the prototype for the B-36 Peacemaker which entered service in 1948
The aircraft was certainly on the large side, wingspan of 230 feet (70 meters), length 162 feet (50 meters) and a height of 47 feet (14 meters) power by six piston engines.
