A Yellow-eyed Penguin returns to it's nest site across 170 million year old petrified
Jurassic forest at Curio Bay in the Catlins. The Yellow-eyed penguin is on the endanged
list and is one of the world's rarest penguins. The Maori name for this beautiful bird
is Hoiho (noise maker) as they are often heard calling to their mates as they
return to nest sites.
How long before there are only Penguin fossils left?
