The Swimming Beach, Stewart Island

Stewart Island

Update July 2012. Our stupid government is allowing oil exploration on Stewart Island. Dumber & dumber...

Its a beautiful shot of what looks to be a idyllic place, but, after Queensland for more than 20 years, I really can't imagine swimming. I hate to think of a world so starved for oil that it will opt to risk places like this to keep the motors running. Great shot.

gorgeous sea colour - looks fine for a swim as there aren't any less obvious features like icebergs or sharks

Beautiful spot to rest a while. Don,t know about a swim but a paddle would be O.K. Nice clarity colours and textures in the foreground.

that could be a refreshing swim here...lush vegetation on that rocky island..
