Simmons and Hawker bus.

My first job, age 15, was in the machine shop at Simmons and Hawkers in Feltham, close to London Airport. They supplied this old bus to take the workers from Wandsworth to Feltham.
Simmons and Hawkers was in Wandsworth for many years before they moved to Feltham.
My father worked there in Wandsworth but did not want to travel when they moved.

Wow! This reminds me of the old Leyland double decker buses we used to have in Sydney when I was going to school. Riding on the upper deck was great, although there was always a mad rush to make the exit before the bus started driving off. As I recall the door to upstairs was in the middle of the bus. Best of luck with your recovery. I had wondered what happened with Putney!
